// Overview

The digital product team at Whiteboard is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who can support our portfolio of products. At Whiteboard, we expect our Software Engineers to interact with customers, understand our business goals, and to innovate rapidly, delivering high customer value and ground-breaking functionality. 

 

// Expectations

  • Design overall architecture of the product application
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features
  • Maintain code integrity and organization
  • Experience working with graphic designers and product designers and converting designs to visual elements
  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
  • Highly experienced with server-side languages (Ex: PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, NodeJS, Go etc)
  • Proficient experience using advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks (Ex:  AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS etc.)
  • Development experience for both mobile and desktop
  • Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools (such as Git, Mercurial or SVN)

 

// Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack engineering. You should be a generalist who's well versed in front-end, as well as backend engineering
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Experience in JavaScript, both in its raw form and with common JS libraries
  • Experience in JS frameworks like Angular, Ember, React, etc.
  • Experience testing your code with Nightwatch, Mocha, Jasmine, etc
  • Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL (MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, etc)
  • Ability to work in multiple stacks and switch between them depending on the project
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Ability to write thorough, scalable and clear design documentation
  • Passion for new and emerging technologies, being able to evaluate and understand the best stack for the job required

How this process goes:

  • If things go well with the screening call, we will invite you to an on-site visit. You'll meet members of our team and sit in a desk to get a sense of what it's like to be at Whiteboard.
  • After an on-site visit, Whiteboard will convene and make a determination on whether or not we see a fit. You will receive a clear answer within a week after the on-site visit has completed.
  • The whole process should take less than 3 weeks to complete, unless there is a specific reason for it to take longer. If something keeps it from progressing, we will communicate that to you along the way.
